About The Fitzgerald Family Foundation Inc
Funding access to college and career training.
The Fitzgerald Family Foundation Inc was formed in 2022 and approved as a IRC Section 501(c) (3) charity. We award the Peter and Carleen Ely Fitzgerald Scholarship to students of the Wyalusing Valley High School and the Theresa Fitzgerald Memorial Scholarship for students of the Sullivan County High School. These scholarships expand opportunities for students from the Wyalusing Valley High School and Sullivan County High School communities—strengthening families and the region for generations.

Our mission
Remove financial barriers so students can pursue their next step.
The Foundation invests in education because it is one of the most reliable pathways to long-term stability and community well-being. Our scholarships support students pursuing two- and four-year degrees as well as vocational and technical programs aligned with in-demand careers.

What we fund
We prioritize practical, student-centered support—tuition assistance—so recipients can focus on learning, persistence, and completion. We welcome pathways that lead to strong outcomes, including college, apprenticeships, and credentialed career training.
Our approach
We aim to be clear, consistent, and fair—supporting students with transparent eligibility, straightforward application steps, and timely communication. We also value partnerships with schools that help students navigate their options and succeed.

Our story
A commitment to opportunity—rooted in community.
The Foundation was created to help students take the next step after high school, regardless of financial circumstances.
We believe education strengthens communities. By investing in students from the Wyalusing Valley High School and Sullivan County High School communities, we aim to open opportunities for them whether close to home or far beyond it.
“When students have access to education and training, the benefits extend well beyond one individual—they ripple through families, workplaces, and the entire community. We encourage recipients to Pay It Forward if they are able to.”
The Fitzgerald Family Foundation Inc
Our work is guided by stewardship and respect for every applicant. We are committed to supporting pathways that lead to meaningful careers, lifelong learning, and a stronger region.
Leadership & stewardship
The Foundation is governed by volunteers committed to integrity, transparency, and responsible grantmaking.

““This is an exciting time and I look forward to the opportunities that I’ll have and this scholarship help is so appreciated to lighten some of the financial burden. I look forward to returning to this community some day and helping others reach their goals. You’ve inspired me to start a scholarship of my own someday and give back.””
